BOM Balloting Has Started!
BOM Balloters,
We have been given approval to move forward with the balloting! I want to thank you again for volunteering to be part of the ballot pool, SISO and the BOM PDG would not be “in business” if it were not for people like you, willing to get involved and move our community forward. I also want to remind you of your primary responsibility that you singed up to in joining the BOM Ballot Pool, and that is to respond promptly to the ballot. We need to get your ballots back in order to continue to move the process forward…so please expedite your efforts and responses and return your ballots as soon as possible! The ballot period is scheduled to run from November 9th 2005 through December 9th 2005.
As a member of the BOM Ballot Pool, you are responsible for balloting, separately, two documents:
The first and primary document is the Base Object Model Template Specification – this is the main document and is being balloted to become SISO Standard: SISO-STD-003-200X
The link for balloting this standard is: http://www.sisostds.org/stdsdev/Tracking_Final/ViewAllSections.cfm?Doc_ID=36
The second and supporting document is the Guide for BOM Use and Implementation – this is a supporting document to the standard, and is being balloted to become a SISO Guidance Document: SISO-STD-003.1-200X
The link for balloting this guidance document is: http://www.sisostds.org/stdsdev/Tracking_Final/ViewAllSections.cfm?Doc_ID=32
The BOM Balloting Instructions are attached and the BOM Product Nomination (PN) is available on the site. Please reference these as needed. If you are unable to get access to the document links, directions for alternate access can be found in the attached balloting instructions.
Also, please take note that the document numbers referenced within this e-mail and the attached instructions are different than the numbers on the actual documents. The document numbering scheme was discussed during SISO SAC approval to go to balloting, and will be resolved via a comment against the documents during the balloting round – consistent with direction provided by the SISO SAC.
Thank you again for your efforts!
R,
Larry Root
