Orlando Face to Face BOM Meeting (5 Jan 2005)

Greetings FOB (Friends of BOM)!

The Face to Face meeting date has been set as Wednesday, 5 January 2005. The location will be the main conference room of the AEgis Technologies Group, Inc in sunny and warm Orlando, Florida. Our offices are in Suite 270 of the Discovery Tech Center, 2800 Discovery Drive. Follow this link for a map showing the directions from the Orlando International Airport to our offices: ftp://ftp.aegistg.com/

I look forward to having another great technical exchange with you'all as we develop this simulation technology. We currently plan to begin at approximately 0830 and work to 1600. However, it won't all be work as we will take a much needed break to go eat some delicious, delectable, and delightful barbeque at Smokey Bones (303 North Alafaya Trail) at midday. Get out of that cold, cloudy, and claustrophobic Northern winter weather and join us. Please follow this link to let us know that your on your way: http://www.boms.info/reg/regaddform.htm

Please contact me by telephone (407.380.5001) or email (jborah@aegistg.com) if you need further information or have any questions.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Jake

BOM Success at I/ITSEC!

The 2004 I/ITSEC conference provided an opportunity to share and discuss the latest developments regarding the Base Object Models (BOMs). Great interest was received by those visiting the DMSO booth this year as many got a chance to see BOMs at play using tools such as BOMworks and VisualOMT, and Simulation Reference Simulator, which provided a mechanism to execute some BOM component implementations (featuring SRML) in a web browser.

Some of the example BOMs on display included a Real-time Platform Reference (RPR) prototype BOMs included Weapons Effects, and Logistics (Resupply & Repair) and a Detection and Jamming BOM. CDs containing the latest specfication and guidance and other resources such briefings, links, a free copy of the BOMworks tool was provided to those visiting the DMSO BOM kiosk.

Great fun was also had with the Jelly BOM compositions (featuring Jelly Belly(r) brand jelly beans). Thanks to all who came by the DMSO booth to learn more about BOMs and feast on jelly beans!
